23 landscapes, cityscapes, and figures painted near home and in distant locations in the United States and abroad. Ranging from something you could hold in your two hands to canvases it takes two people to handle, the elegant assembly shows off the Hearst Center's lovely space.

The painter's styles, at times dramatically distinct, present striking similarities of form, intimacy, and expanse. In one case, two paintings, one four times larger than the other, are hung so we can see both at virtually the same size, revealing a surprising continuity of form. They were painted six years apart on two different continents by the two different painters, yet the paintings seem to flow freely into each other.

There are also two portraits the artists did simultaneously of each other at Bromley's studio in North Dakota State University where he is Professor of Art. Echeverría is a retired Professor of Art from the University of Northern Iowa.
